More than 1,200 UCF employees said “Yes! I Believe” and contributed to the 2011-12 Faculty & Staff giving campaign, which concluded this week. For the first time in the campaign’s five year history, all areas on campus participated. “For a university of this size to have every division involved – that’s an incredible accomplishment,” said Robert J. Holmes, CEO of the UCF Foundation.
Also incredible was the amount of money donated– more than $607,000. These resources will support a wide variety of programs of the donors’ choosing, including student enrichment, need-based scholarships, facility enhancement and many other important initiatives. It is expected that the total will increase as additional contributions are received in the coming weeks.
The success of the campaign was celebrated Wednesday at the FAIRWINDS Alumni Center and attended by more than 400 employees across all divisions. Dr. Hitt thanked everyone for their commitment to UCF, saying “When we work together, we make an already strong university even stronger.”
He announced the campaign total with assistance from Knightro and the UCF Spirit Squad. Guests were also serenaded by the Crescendudes, UCF’s all-male a capella singing group, who thanked donors on behalf of all UCF students by performing “I love UCF.”
