The University of Central Florida will host a workshop Friday, Nov. 5, aimed at equipping potential entrepreneurs with the thinking, business and networking skills they need to commercialize their ideas.

The seventh-annual Invention to Venture workshop, coordinated by UCF and the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance, will be from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the FAIRWINDS Alumni Center on UCF’s main campus. The cost is $8 for UCF students; $15 for faculty, staff and alumni; and $25 for all others.

More than 200 entrepreneurs have attended prior Invention to Venture workshops, which guide participants through identifying promising opportunities and transforming them into viable business proposals.

Workshops can benefit students who want to start a new business; graduate students, faculty members and researchers who want to bring their research into the market; entrepreneurs who are starting new companies; and investors seeking high-growth companies and connections with UCF.
