The University Testing Center received national recognition from the College Board as it was named a top 100 CLEP test centers in the country in 2014-2015 and recognized for its commitment to promoting access to higher education for all students. This is the 11th consecutive year that UTC has been given this outstanding honor.
Each year, the College Board recognizes the top test centers across the country who administer the most number of CLEP tests. There are more than 1,800 test centers nationally who administer CLEP exams that are accepted by 2,900 college and universities.
CLEP, the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program in the United States, helps students earn college credit for a fraction of the cost by through knowledge they learned through prior coursework, independent study, internships, job training, professional development and personal pursuits. Students who receive a qualifying score can earn from three to 12 credits towards a college degree for each CLEP exam taken, depending on the exam subject and policy of the college or university.
The center offers 33 CLEP exams, which assess subject matter proficiency and provide an opportunity for students to receive college credit with qualifying scores. In 2014-2015, UTC administered a total of 268 CLEP exams to 398 students. Of the CLEP exams administered, College Algebra and Spanish Language remain the most widely requested and taken by UCF’s students.
