The Grandparent Waiver form will become available for applicants to the 2026-27 academic year sometime in September 2025. UCF has not received its allocation of waivers or the test score requirements from the State University System Board of Governors (FLBOG) for the upcoming application cycle. We hope to receive them soon, however, if they are not received by the end of September, we will begin a waitlist at that time.
Students can apply for the Grandparent Waiver once they have submitted a complete application for admission including: 1) an application for undergraduate admission, 2) a $30 application fee or approved fee waiver, 3) the self-reported GPA form (SPARK), and 4) a qualifying SAT or ACT score.
Applicants will receive information regarding the SPARK once their application is received.**
While the qualifying scores for 2026-27 have not been set by the FLBOG, last year’s required scores were 1330 SAT, 29 ACT, or 95 CLT. UCF super-scores the SAT and ACT exam results. The qualifying score may change or remain the same.
** Note for Common App applicants: Common App begins releasing applications to institutions mid to late August. That will be the earliest we have access to any Common App applications that are completed starting August 1.
UCF’s allocation last year was 44 Grandparent Waivers.
First-come first-served order is determined by a complete admission application, a complete waiver application, and meeting all of the pre-enrollment requirements for the waiver.
Please keep an eye on our website for the Grandparent Waiver Application for 2026-27 to be released.
