The University of Central Florida’s annual emergency training and readiness week will run March 16-19.

The KNIGHTSHARE Expo, in its third year, includes educational and hands-on opportunities to learn about safety and emergency preparedness and recovery. The week of training sessions, exercises and events is designed with students, faculty, staff and the community in mind.

Highlights will include a women’s self-defense class, crisis intervention training, a CPR course, a storm spotter workshop and more.

On Wednesday, local, state and federal emergency responders will show off the vehicles and equipment they use to keep you safe during a showcase at Memory Mall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be bomb robot and K-9 demonstrations, a DUI simulator and more.

On Thursday, UCF will conduct regular testing of the UCF Alert system.

A full schedule of events and registration for the training courses are available at www.ucf.edu/knightshare.

KNIGHTSHARE is coordinated by the Office of Emergency Management in partnership with UCF Police, Victim Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, Environmental Health and Safety, and other external agencies.
