Central (Miami, Fla.) senior quarterback Jeff Godfrey, an early enrollee at the University of Central Florida (UCF), earned Miami-Dade Player-of-the-Year honors after setting county’s career passing yardage mark. Godfrey finished the year with 2,748 yards passing and 36 touchdowns with only eight interceptions. He led Central to the school’s first semi-finals appearance.
