In the end, the field cabanas never stood a chance.

Fans refused to be denied the opportunity to celebrate the Knights’ epic double-overtime victory against No. 2 BYU and were determined to rush the field by whatever means necessary — including scaling down the roughly 8-foot tall structures in the north end zone.

The victory is one for the record books, marking UCF’s highest-ranked opponent ever defeated and the first win over an AP top 5 opponent in program history.

“This is the best team we’ve played, I’ve got so much respect for them,” says UCF head coach Scott Frost. “I’m happy for UCF, a win like this has been a long time coming for us.”

Below are some of the best images and social media commentary to come out of the game and celebration.
