UCF Health Services’ pharmacists held a “National Pharmacy Week Health Fair” on October 22 in celebration of National Hospital and Health-Systems Pharmacy Week. The event was held on the Student Union patio, offering complimentary blood pressure and diabetes pre-screenings. A representative from Abbott Laboratories was present to conduct complimentary blood sugar measurements, which is a helpful tool in indicating possible diabetes. Students from the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy were also present to assist with screenings. In total, over 100 participants were screened during this 3-hour event and gift bags were given to all participants.

National Pharmacy Week acknowledges, promotes and celebrates achievements and contributions of the pharmacy profession, and highlights patient care activities performed by pharmacists.
