Ever wonder what would happen if you could put Shakespeare’s greatest characters on trial for their crimes. The Orlando Shakespeare Theater In Partnership With UCF does just that during its 5th Annual Mock Trial next week.
Based on Shakespeare’s “Othello,” this lively event will explore what led to the tragic death of Desdemona by the hands of her jealous husband, Othello.
Presented in partnership with WUCF TV, the event on Tuesday, Feb. 26, will be full of improvised twists and turns – all while seeking justice through a web of intrigue, jealousy and revenge.
The performance includes actors from Orlando Shakes’ ongoing production of “Othello,” a panel of five guest judges and local lawyers Kimberly Ashby, a shareholder at Akerman Senterfitt, and John Hamilton, a partner at Foley & Lardner, serving as advocates.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for students from Orlando Shakes. Event begins at 5:30 p.m. with the trial starting at 6:30 p.m.
