The University of Central Florida’s Homecoming week will come to light with its first ever fireworks show starting at 9:30 p.m. today, Oct. 24, at Memory Mall.

This year’s theme is “IGKNIGHT: Fuel Your Legacy.” Events will be held on campus for students and throughout the community for alumni.

To accommodate Friday’s fireworks show, Garage D and a few designated rows of Lot D1 will close at 11 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23. Vehicles in those areas must be removed by that time, or they will be subject to towing.

Additional on-campus parking will be available Friday at the Softball Stadium, with a shuttle service provided from there to the Health and Public Affairs shuttle stop in lot C1.

Spirit Splash, UCF’s annual Homecoming pep rally, will begin at 2 p.m. today at the Reflecting Pond. The event was awarded Best Campus Tradition by the National Association for Campus Activities in 2011.

The week’s activities will wrap up when the UCF Knights take on the Temple Owls at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Bright House Networks Stadium. Campus will open at 8 a.m. for game day festivities, and this year’s Homecoming king and queen will be crowned during the game’s halftime.
