Student-models will showcase the rich traditions of the countries their families hail from during a fashion show hosted Wednesday, April 11, by UCF’s International Student Association.

The International Fashion Show will highlight traditional ethnic clothing and modern street wear from countries across the globe.

The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Pegasus Ballroom of the Student Union. The fashion show is free and open to the public, and it will feature cultural performances and free international food.

The event is meant to draw attention to the ethnic diversity of UCF’s student body, explained Cristina Popescu, president of the International Student Association.

“Currently, there are students from more than 130 countries enrolled at UCF,” Popescu said. “We are hosting this event to expose the campus community to our university’s increasing internationalization. Attendees will learn more about the diverse student population represented at UCF through international fashion, cultures, traditions and cuisines.”

Other student organizations involved with the event include the International Services Center, the Multicultural Student Center and the Student Government Association.
