Professor Khim Kelly recently added the title of KPMG Professor of Accounting to her achievements.

Kelly, who joined the Kenneth G. Dixon School of Accounting in the College of Business in 2016, teaches courses in financial and managerial accounting. Her research focuses on the design of performance measurement, evaluation and compensation practices in organizations.

Her investiture to the endowed professorship shows the financial commitment made by KPMG partners, employees and the KPMG Foundation to provide high-quality faculty, curriculum and resources to students.

“This professorship will support the pursuit of my research as well as the education of future generations of students and accounting practitioners,” Kelly says.

Kelly received her Ph.D. from the University of Southern California and previously held faculty positions at the University of Waterloo, Canada, and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Her work has been featured in a variety of accounting publications and she serves on the editorial boards of several accounting journals. She has been invited to present her research at numerous conferences and universities in the U.S. and internationally.

“Khim Kelly has worked tirelessly to understand the ways in which accounting information can be used to improve decision-making in organizations,” says Theresa Libby, director of the Kenneth G. Dixon School of Accounting. “Khim’s enthusiasm for these new and innovative ideas in the field cannot help but translate into exciting and often cutting-edge discussions with students in the classroom.”

Kelly’s diverse portfolio makes her a perfect choice for the professorship, says Christopher McCann, a senior manager in KPMG’s tax practice and a member of the UCF Dixon School of Accounting Advisory Board.

We are proud of our longstanding collaboration with the UCF College of Business and the important work Dr. Kelly is accomplishing here,” says McCann. “She will serve as a great representative of the KPMG Professor title.”

KPMG is a longtime partner of the College of Business. The company supports student initiatives, sponsors the college’s Professional Selling Program, and hosted a “Sales Role Play Competition” last year. KPMG team members also are frequent speakers on campus at The Exchange.
