The UCF Annual Founders’ Day Honors Convocation recognizes outstanding achievements of our faculty and students.  Rosen College congratulates our student and three professors honored at this year’s ceremony, held April 6.

Student Ashley Williams received the Founders’ Day Award for the Rosen College of Hospitality Management.  An Event Management major, Williams is a member of NACE — the National Association of Catering Executives — and the president of Rosen College Professional Convention Management Association student chapter. She is a Florida Bright Futures Scholar, UCF First Year Scholar and Brothers and Sisters Scholar. She also has been included on the Dean’s List and President’s Honor Roll. Williams’ industry experience includes the Waldorf Astoria Orlando and the Palm Beach County Convention and Visitors Bureau. She has assisted with high-profile events for a New York-based wedding-planning company and the National Association of College Stores.

Dr. Po-Ju Chen was honored with the Founders’ Day Award for Excellence in Research for the Rosen College of Hospitality Management.  Dr. Chen’s research interests include tourism, destination marketing and research methodology.  Her publications include articles in the Journal of Travel Research, Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Educator and Journal of Park and Recreation Administration.

Dr. David Kwun received the Founders’ Day Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching for the Rosen College of Hospitality Management.  Dr. Kwun’s emphasis is on Hospitality Marketing, Consumer Behavior and Brand Management. He brings a diverse perspective to his students from national and international backgrounds in the academia and hospitality industry.
