Travel-industry pioneer Terry Jones will speak Friday at UCF’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management about technology, innovation and hospitality.
Jones began his career as a travel agent and then spent 24 years in marketing and information technology at American Airlines, capping his career as chief information officer in the company’s SABRE division. While at SABRE he led a team on a project that became Travelocity.com and later served as CEO for seven years.
He left Travelocity when the company went private and he then became part of the founding team at Kayak.com, where he served as chairman of the company until it was sold to Priceline for $1.8 billion in 2013.
Today he is chairman of Wayblazer and managing principal of ON Inc., a consultancy he founded to help companies in their transition to the digital economy.
Friday’s program, which will include a Q&A afterwards, will be 10 a.m. in the Darden Auditorium at the college.
