Master’s in Literary, Cultural, and Textual Studies student Katie Beth Curtis has won first prize at the Post-Graduate level of the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA) 2009 Essay Contest for her essay “Troubled Sisterhood: When Sisters Become Rivals in Mansfield Park.” She will present her paper at the conference in Philadelphia in October and will receive free conference registration and free lodging, as well as a year’s membership in the society.
