Delia Garcia, director of Student Advising in the College of Arts & Humanities, has been honored by the National Academic Advising Association for her service to higher education and her dedication to students.

NACADA is a nonprofit organization that helps to promote quality academic advising and the professional development of advisers nationwide. The organization honors individuals and institutions that are improving student development through effective advising programs.

Garcia will be presented with an Outstanding Advising Certificate of Merit at a special awards reception during the NACADA Annual Conference, which will be held in Orlando in October.
