The three-year accreditation was awarded by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), a national organization that evaluates and accredits university health centers and community ambulatory care clinics.

Accreditation means the UCF Health Center has met nationally recognized standards for providing high quality health care to patients and a safe work environment. Only three Florida university health centers, and 152 nationwide, are accredited by AAAHC.

“We choose to undergo the voluntary accreditation process to demonstrate to students and parents that we have met the ‘gold standard’ of quality health care services for the students we serve,” said J. Robert Wirag, director of UCF Health Services.

UCF Health Services provides students with dental services, primary care, gynecology, sports medicine, psychiatry, pharmacy, laboratory and radiology services, as well as health promotion and disease prevention programs.
