The University of Central Florida celebrates Founders’ Day by honoring some of UCF’s best students, teachers and researchers Wednesday, April 6.

President John C. Hitt will kick off the ceremony at 10 a.m. in the Pegasus Ballroom in the Student Union. He and others will pay tribute to all the hard work that goes on at the university to educate students and empower our community.

Awards recognize faculty members for outstanding teaching, advising, research, professional service and librarianship. This includes recognition of UCF Reach for the Stars Award recipients for their highly successful early-career research and creative activity, and Pegasus Professor Award recipients for UCF’s highest honor of excellence.

Members of the faculty who have completed 20, 30, 40, and 45 years of service and those who recently retired or will be retiring soon will also be recognized for their dedicated service.

In addition, 11 students who have demonstrated exceptional ability in a particular area of study and four Honors in the Major students who have written the most outstanding theses will be recognized for their achievements.

The event is open to the public. Those who cannot attend can view the ceremony live by clicking https://oir.ucf.edu/webcast/.
