The University of Central Florida’s College of Medicine has received preliminary U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HSS) approval to establish a regional health IT extension center, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
The federal economic stimulus package calls for extension centers to help health care providers purchase, install and implement electronic health record systems.
