WUCF TV, Central Florida’s PBS station licensed to the University of Central Florida, welcomes a new Director of Finance & Accounting.

Rita Echeverria joined the staff on Aug. 30, after serving two years as the Assistant Director of Finance and Accounting for the University of Central Florida College of Medicine-Regional Extension Center.

Echeverria will direct all aspects of the station’s finances, including development of the station’s annual operating budget and oversight of all revenue streams. She also will oversee all compliance requirements of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Prior to her tenure at the UCF College of Medicine, Echeverria spent more than 17 years as an accountant for real estate management companies, an auditor for medium- and large-size CPA firms and as a Controller for a real estate developer.

“Rita joins us at a time when WUCF TV is growing to provide new programming to our viewers and services throughout the community,” said Polly Anderson, Executive Director of WUCF TV. “Her valuable experiences in the private sector and working for the new College of Medicine at UCF will help us as we build the nation’s newest PBS station here in Central Florida.”

Echeverria received her bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Accounting from Assumption College in the Philippines.
