UCF College of Business Administration Assistant Professor of Marketing Amit Joshi and Dominique M. Hanssens, the Bud Knapp Professor of Marketing at UCLA, have been selected as the recipients of the 2010 Marketing Science Institute (MSI)/H. Paul Root Award for their article “The Direct and Indirect Effects of Advertising Spending on Firm Value.”

The article appeared in the January 2010 (Vol. 74, No. 1) issue of the Journal of Marketing.

The award will be presented at the American Marketing Association’s 2011 Winter Marketing Educators’ Conference in February. The award is named in honor of H. Paul Root, who was President of MSI from 1990-98. It is given by members of the Journal of Marketing editorial review board to a paper that has made a significant contribution to the advancement of the practice of marketing, and is cosponsored by the American Marketing Association and the MSI. Before 1996, this award was funded by the Alpha Kappa Psi Foundation and was known as the Alpha Kappa Psi Award.
