The UCF School of Public Administration is pleased to invite members of the local community to attend a free lecture by Arthur C. “Chris” Nelson, a distinguished national expert on city and metropolitan planning, at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011.

The lecture will be held at Florida Hospital’s Werner Auditorium at 601 East Rollins Street in Orlando. Complimentary parking is available in the nearby Alden Street parking garage.

Nelson’s lecture is the first of three in the school’s 2011-12 UCF Urban and Regional Planning Distinguished Lecture Series. 

Nelson is a presidential professor and executive director of the Metropolitan Research Center in the Department of City and Metropolitan Planning at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He will speak about current planning practices and the changing needs of Americans. He also will share his thoughts on the development of healthy, walkable and diverse communities in Central Florida.
