More than 600 academic institutions compete in the KCACTF. Regional festivals showcase the finest of each region’s entered productions and are judged by a panel of three respondents. The judges called UCF’s production “very successfully realized,” praising the “tremendous amount of research and preparation” that made the production “look effortless.”

The Learned Ladies, written by Moliere, is a satire on young love, “pretentious intellects” and male/ female power struggles. The production is presented in the traditional Commedia del arte style that heavily influenced Moliere’s work: audience participation, lots of physical comedy and comic archetypes that originated in Ancient Greece but are still present in the sitcoms and sketch comedies of today.
