Nano Discovery Inc., a medical research company headquartered in southeast Orlando, was awarded a $100,000 Florida Technology Transfer & Commercialization Partnership Grant.

Dr. Qun Huo, founder and chief executive officer of Nano Discovery and an associate professor at University of Central Florida’s NanoScience Technology Center, said the grant will help further her efforts to develop a new bioanalytical technology for biomolecular and research and medical diagnosis using gold nanoparticles.

Nano Discovery expects to commercialize this new technology to the biomedical research community in one to two years and to the diagnostic market in three to five years.

Nano Discovery is a client of the UCF Business Incubation Program in the Central Florida Research Park.
