George Anders is the keynote speaker at this semester’s “Welcome to the Majors,” scheduled for Jan. 22. The event, sponsored by Wells Fargo, will be held in the Student Union’s Pegasus Ballroom. Anders will speak on how to stand out in any profession.
Anders has three decades of experience writing for publications like Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Businessweek, The Guardian and Harvard Business Review. In 1997, he was a member of a team that won a Pulitzer Prize for national reporting. He has published four critically acclaimed books, including Perfect Enough: Carly Fiorina and the Reinvention of Hewlett-Packard and The Rare Find: Spotting Exceptional Talent Before Anyone Else.
Welcome to the Majors takes place at the start of every semester and serves as students’ introduction to the UCF College of Business Administration (#UCFBusiness). It is also the first day of class for Career Research and Planning (GEB 3003), a course designed to give business students an edge when entering the job market.
Over 1200 students are expected to attend this year’s event, where they will network with Dean Jarley, faculty, student organizations and their peers.
