Students in Professor A’Rion Raymond’s Event Management II class recently hosted an education and networking event for nonprofit organizations in the Central Florida region. The event entitled Rosen Lends a Hand, was held Nov. 15 on the hospitality management campus.

Over 25 attendees enjoyed three education speakers and tours of the campus.  Special guest Gina Duncan with the Metropolitan Business Association of Orlando, spoke to attendees on how to run successful nonprofit organizations in the 21st century.

Entities including the American Lung Association and New Hope for Kids were able to become better acquainted with programs offered by the Rosen College of Hospitality Management. Areas of emphasis included Career Services and the Office of Experiential Learning, which help connect students to internships and future career possibilities.

The event management majors also networked with the professionals and discussed the development and enhancement of student internship positions.

Rosen College is proud to host such a successful event and anticipates continuing relationships with these and other nonprofit organizations.
