Holding ourselves to the highest standards is one way that we live our values every day. Having leaders in place who help us do that strengthens UCF and the important work we do.

That’s why I have hired Rhonda Bishop as our new Vice President for Compliance and Risk. Rhonda will lead our commitment to accountability and transparency while strengthening a culture of ethics throughout UCF.

Rhonda has spent the past year and a half as Vice President for Risk, Audit and Compliance at the University of Louisville. Her previous experience includes serving as UCF’s first chief compliance and ethics officer.

Rhonda is a respected leader in compliance and ethics and created a consortium that helped other Florida universities establish their own compliance and ethics programs. While at UCF, she developed the university’s code of conduct, launched the anonymous IntegrityLine and helped create the Let’s Be Clear program on sexual harassment and sexual assault.

She will start on Sept. 9 and report to me as a member of the president’s cabinet and to the Board of Trustees’ Audit and Compliance Committee.

In her role, Rhonda will oversee UCF’s compliance, ethics and risk efforts, leading enterprise risk, compliance and ethics, athletics compliance, environmental health and safety, and risk management and insurance services. She also will oversee many of the recommendations from the Board of Trustees’ post-investigation action plan, including ethics training and institutional risk assessments.

Elevating this position to a senior leadership role has long been a best practice in large, high-performing organizations. I’m excited to have Rhonda back at UCF to champion our shared commitment to integrity and accountability in everything we do.
