UCF was the first university in Florida to install a green roof, one that makes as much as an 80-degree difference in the roof’s temperature. The planted area will also extend the life of the roof membrane and cut energy costs. Groundlevel cisterns hold excess rainwater, which is then used to irrigate the roof. See how else UCF is helping the environment.
