Health Services hosted a “How to Take Vital Signs” workshop on Jan. 29 for any student interested in learning this important practice for health care providers. The class was taught by Susana Bryan, senior registered nurse, and included information about risks, what vital signs can indicate, as well as instruction on how to take vital signs, including blood pressure, respiration, temperature and pulse. Students were able to practice their new skills on one another for hands-on training.

“I liked that it was hands on and we actually practiced what was taught,” said Arnaldo Perez, a freshman studying Biomedical Sciences. “I am a pre-med student, so I think it is necessary that I continue to expand my knowledge in the medical field.”
