Two associate professors from the Department of Finance, Honghui Chen and Vladimir Gatchev have been named SunTrust Professors.
Honghui Chen joined UCF in 2003. His research area is investments, specifically market anomalies, short sales and mutual fund performance. He earned his Ph.D. in Finance from Virginia Tech.
“I am deeply honored and humbled by the SunTrust Professorship. I am excited about this opportunity and look forward to working hard to help our department and college achieve prominence,” he said.
Vladimir Gatchev came to UCF in 2005 and teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate level. He earned his Ph.D. in Finance from Tulane University.
He is also grateful for this opportunity. “Being named a SunTrust Professor of Finance is an honor and I am thankful for it. It gives me an increased sense of responsibility towards the university and the community,” he said.
