In 1970 President Charles Millican launched the UCF varsity athletics program. Today, UCF sponsors 16 programs. Here’s more:

  • UCF has several new athletic facilities, including Bright House Networks Stadium (football), the UCF Arena (basketball), The Venue at UCF (volleyball) and the UCF Intercollegiate Rowing Center.
  • UCF student-athletes train inside the Nicholson Fieldhouse, the only 120-yard indoor practice facility in the state of Florida.
  • With the exception of rowing, all of UCF’s programs compete in Conference USA.
  • During the 2008-09 academic year, UCF placed a league-record 224 student-athletes on the Conference USA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.
  • The Knights’ cheerleading squad claimed the national championship in 2007 and 2003.
  • Fifty-four individuals have been inducted into the UCF Athletics Hall of Fame.
  • UCF teams wear Adidas footwear and gear.
