With a new $570,000 federal grant, aspiring teachers at the University of Central Florida will create 500 new social and educational service-learning projects that will benefit area children and adults with disabilities.
The three-year grant – a partnership with the nonprofit UCP –will involve more than 3,000 UCF College of Education students. It is expected to directly impact 15,000 people with disabilities and their families in Central Florida.
