At a time when small businesses are struggling to stay afloat, an award-winning University of Central Florida program gives many emerging companies a significant advantage over their competition.

The UCF Business Incubation Program helps new companies overcome the many challenges that they often face in their first few years. Companies benefit from mentoring, workshops and shared facilities, along with close connections to UCF and its talented faculty members and students.

Since its founding in 1999, the program has served more than 130 emerging companies, including about 80 current clients. Companies represent a variety of industries, including electronics, simulation and training, information technology, nanotechnology, optics and medicine.

“We focus on high-growth companies that have the potential to make a significant impact on the regional economy,” said Tom O’Neal, the executive director of the UCF Business Incubation Program.
