The University of Central Florida will be closed for the winter holiday from Friday, Dec. 23, through Monday, Jan. 2.

UCF President John C. Hitt earlier this year approved extra paid days off in December to recognize the outstanding contributions staff and faculty members have made this year. Additionally Gov. Rick Scott just declared Dec. 23 a holiday for state employees.

“I am extremely thankful for the outstanding dedication and unwavering commitment of our staff and faculty members,” President Hitt said.  “You have my sincere thanks for the contributions you make to our students and university.”

The university will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
