“The Unsinkables”, a team of five UCF College of Business Administration (#UCFBusiness) students, emerged victorious in Fall 2015’s Great Capstone Case Competition, sponsored by Regal Marine Industries, Inc., one of the largest family-owned-and-operated boat manufacturing companies in the world.
The Unsinkables were the last ones standing out of 139 teams (624 students) enrolled in the Capstone class.
“This was one of the hardest working teams I have seen in Capstone. Every member worked above and beyond to create an exciting, insightful recommendation for the client,” said Leslie Connell, faculty manager for the winning team.
The competition was held on Friday, December 11 in the Business Administration 1 atrium. Students worked together in teams to develop strategic recommendations for solving a real-world business issue for Regal. They then defended that strategy in an “executive-level” boardroom presentation.

“The Great Capstone Case Competition is the culmination of the student experience here at the college,” said Paul Jarley, Ph.D., dean. “Students from different majors and disciplines work together to analyze data to solve a problem for a real company. Companies get the benefit of having hundreds of business students helping them explore possibilities they may not have thought of otherwise.”
Regal Marine Industries, Inc., was founded by Paul and Carol Kuck in 1969 and is headquartered in Orlando, Florida. For more information on the company, visit www.regalboats.com/.
