Access to Opportunities (A2O) is the University of Central Florida’s scholarship platform. A2O offers hundreds of scholarships offered from colleges and departments across our campus.
There are also opportunities for students to search scholarships from outside UCF by navigating to the ‘External’ category under the Opportunities drop-down.
To get started students can log in to A2O using their UCF NID email address and password. To access the platform, students must be admitted to the university with a paid seat deposit or be a returning UCF student
How to Apply
Upon logging into A2O, students must complete the General Application, which includes fewer than 15 questions (e.g., expected enrollment and graduation dates). This information is used to match students with relevant scholarship opportunities. Completing the General Application also unlocks access to additional applications, such as Conditional and Apply-To Applications, which may require supplemental materials like a resume, essay, or recommendation. The General Application must be submitted annually.
Based on the General Application and academic records, students may be prompted to complete a Conditional Application. This form gathers targeted information to determine eligibility for scholarships tied to specific colleges or areas of interest, streamlining the process by consolidating multiple opportunities into one application.
Students may also be recommended for Apply-To Applications, which require separate submissions and additional documentation for each scholarship. These are offered across various UCF colleges and departments.
All application statuses, including the completed General Application, can be viewed under the “My Applications” section in A2O.
Application Timeframe
Most scholarships on the platform will open for application in early Spring to be applied to the upcoming aid year, which begins in the following Fall. Eligible awards will begin disbursing after the tuition deadline of the awarded term.
Application deadlines vary depending on the college or department associated with the scholarship opportunity. Selections generally begin in the late Spring semester and may continue throughout the year. If selected for a scholarship, recipients will receive an email from A2O@ucf.edu or the awarding college/department with the offer details. Students are encouraged to accept the offer and submit a Thank You Letter upon receiving communication.
Once the Office of Student Financial Assistance is notified of the expected award by the associated college or department, a scholarship place holder will appear in offered status on student’s myUCF. Students do not need to accept this award on myUCF. Scholarship will move to accepted status once funds are received by the Office of Student Financial Assistance. Questions on funding status should be directed to the associated college or department.
Thank You Letter
A Thank You Letter is a great way to show your donor how appreciative you are of the funding and how it is making an impact. Thank You Letters are not required but are strongly encouraged. A2O may prompt you to provide a Thank You letter.
A sample Thank You Letter has been provided below for those seeking assistance. We also encourage reaching out to the Writing Center.
