The UCF Police Department reminds you to stay vigilant this holiday season.
Whether your plans have you at UCF or elsewhere, it’s important to be aware of your surroundings at all times.
If you’ll be away from UCF during Thanksgiving or winter break, remember to take any valuables with you. Before you leave your home or office, ensure all doors and windows are locked and secure.
Avoid accidental indicators about your whereabouts, such as posting when you will or won’t be home on social media or allowing packages to collect in front of your door.
During this busy travel season, remember to buckle up and follow the rules of the road. If your festivities involve alcohol, never get behind the wheel after you’ve been drinking, and remember that “buzzed” driving is drunk driving.
While the holidays are a time for fellowship, exercise caution before letting people you don’t know into your home, and vice versa.
UCF Police will continue to patrol campus, and officers are available 24/7. Call our non-emergency line at 407-823-5555 for assistance or dial 911 in an emergency.
Remember that criminals look for opportunity, especially during the busy holiday season when people are more likely to be distracted. Stay alert, exercise caution, and remember we’re here if you need us.
On behalf of everyone at the UCF Police Department, we wish you a successful remainder of the fall semester and safe and happy holiday season.
