Dean Thomas Keon, dean of the College of Business Administration since 1997, has been named the chancellor of Purdue University Calumet. He will begin his new position July 1. Under Keon’s leadership, the college’s endowment has grown tremendously, several endowed chairs were established, and the Kenneth G. Dixon School of Accounting, the DeVos Sport Business Management Program and the Dr. P. Phillips School of Real Estate were created. Enrollment has also increased substantially. When he began in 1997, there were 5,202 students enrolled in the college. Based on fall 2010 records, there are currently 8,729. “As I look forward to my future at Purdue, I will not forget my past at UCF. It has been a pleasure to work here and I truly appreciate the faculty, students, and staff in the college. At the university level, there are far too many colleagues and friends to mention.” he said. An interim dean has not been named yet. Watch for updates.
