Beginning Monday, Jan. 2, the PBS NewsHour will move back to its 7 p.m. weekday slot on WUCF TV.

The award-winning news broadcast was previously moved to 6 p.m. on Central Florida’s PBS channel to make room for new shows that started in October.

“We listened to viewers, and by popular demand we are returning the NewsHour to 7 p.m.,” said Grant J. Heston, an associate vice president at UCF who oversees the channel. “WUCF TV is our community’s channel, and our viewers’ feedback helps us serve our Central Florida community.”

WUCF TV will air its new locally produced shows, Global Perspectives and Metro Center Outlook, at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays respectively.

Other schedule changes include:

Nightly Business Report will move back to 6:30 p.m. weekdays on WUCF TV.

— National shows Inside Washington and White House Chronicle will move to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Fridays, respectively.
