This month’s CleanTech to SpaceTech Showcase culminates with three forums highlighting Florida’s energy technology sector and a keynote panel featuring energy program experts from Southeastern U.S. Energy Programs & Utilities. Topics will include the latest innovations and programs focusing on energy and power generation in the United States. Panelists for the MegaWatt Ventures program include: Roy Keller, associate director for the Louisiana Business & Technology Center;  Sumesh Arora, director of Strategic Biomass Solutions for the Mississippi Technology Alliance; and Ben Hill, program director for the Georgia Tech Clean Energy Speaker Series.

“Emerging growth and startup companies, universities and organizations developing renewable energy technologies will be represented at the CleanTech to SpaceTech Showcase,” explains Thomas O’Neal, associate vice president for Research and Commercialization at UCF.  “This is the perfect setting to connect aspiring entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, researchers and experts working toward developing viable clean energy options.  We expect a number of promising collaborations will be generated from this innovative showcase.”

CleanTech to SpaceTech: Accelerating Florida Entrepreneurship highlights Florida’s clean technology initiatives and features forums by MegaWatt Ventures, the Florida Cleantech Acceleration Network Showcase, and the Igniting Innovation Showcase.  During the showcase, MegaWatt Ventures and Space Florida will both award one of their presenting companies a cash prize of $100,000.

The event is being held at The Florida Hotel in Orlando on Thursday, Sept. 20, and Friday, Sept. 21.
