A closing reception for Gallery 500’s spring exhibition will be 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 21 at UCF’s Center for Emerging Media. The show, “Brian R. Jobe and Jason S. Brown: Alignment 2x,” is on display until Feb. 22 at 500 W. Livingston St., Orlando.

The artists collaborated to bring together linear elements, colors, and common raw materials that are components in each of their individual works.

They said the intent of the exhibit is to create a new space for exchange and dialogue about currency and systems of economic and social values.

Jobe’s art is particularly inspired by interstate highways, modular architecture, and caution colors. Brown is interested in exploring transitional spaces where growth and decay are happening simultaneously. Both teach art in Knoxville, Tenn.
