Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® presented $9,000 in scholarships to five UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management students on Feb. 25, 2010.  The company provided two scholarships in the amount of $1,500 and three scholarships in the amount of $2,000.

The student recipients belong to the National Society for Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH), a professional organization that strives to educate in order to aid in the recruitment, retention, support and advancement of minority students in the hospitality industry.Recipients were Mr. Andres Morales (Chapter President), Mr. Jose Lopez (Chapter Vice President), Ms. Sueh Vertuoso (Chapter Public Relations Chair), Ms. Annie Daley (Member) and Ms. Hilary Schwartz (Member).  The check was presented by Cracker Barrel representatives Mr. Tom Spellman, Human Resources Manager and Ms. Lisa Hartman, Human Resources Manager.

This year’s $9,000 scholarships are part of a $29 thousand dollar, three year program, to support scholarships for students in the UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management and to support programming for the Department of Multicultural Advising Support Services.
