Dates and times for all BIG EAST games will be released when they are finalized. UCF will not take on fellow BIG EAST members Boise State, San Diego State and Memphis next year. The East and West division winners, determined by final conference record, will meet in the first BIG EAST Football Championship Game, which will be played at the home site of one of the division winners.
All three schools which shared the BIG EAST title in 2012 are on the Knights’ schedule next season, as Cincinnati, Louisville and Rutgers tied with 5-2 league marks. Louisville claimed the BIG EAST’s automatic bid to the Bowl Championship Series as it will rumble with Florida in the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
UCF currently is getting ready for its trip to the Beef `O’ Brady’s Bowl where it will take on Ball State Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. The Knights are 9-4 and claimed the Conference USA East Division title for the fourth time in eight seasons in the league. The Cardinals, meanwhile, are 9-3 with all three defeats coming to teams with two losses or less (Northern Illinois, Kent State, Clemson).
