Congratulations to Alexis Marano, an Honors in the Major student in the Basic B.S.N. program on UCF’s Orlando campus. Her abstract submission, “Non-Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation (NPPV): Its Uses, Complications, & Implications within Nursing Practice in Acute Care Settings,” has been approved for presentation at the 27th National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) in April 2013 at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

NCUR abstract reviewers wrote, “Chosen from more than 3,500 submissions, your abstract demonstrates a unique contribution to your field of study and we are pleased to offer you the opportunity to present your work to your peers, faculty, and staff from around the world.”

Alexis was also among a group of UCF Nursing and UCF Medical students that traveled to the Dominican Republic on a medical service mission in July 2012. In November 2012, she was named Undergraduate Student Nurse of the Year by the March of Dimes.
