The accolades continue to pile up for freshman sprinter Octavious Freeman. This year’s fastest woman on Earth was named the Conference USA Female Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, picking up her first weekly award of the outdoor season and the fourth of her career.

The speedster from Lake Wales, Fla., was honored after posting a SportsCenter Top-10 worthy performance at the Florida Relays in the 100 Meters. Her personal-best 11.10 is the world’s top time by a female this year and shattered the school, freshman and Florida Relays records. Check out the video in this story to watch the race.

She followed up that with the world’s second-fastest time in the 200 Meters. Her personal-best 22.80 also broke the school and freshman records.

With her first-place finishes, Freeman qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in June. She will join sophomore Aurieyall Scott and senior Jackie Coward, who have both already qualified to compete at the Trials.

Freeman earned the distinction of Athlete of the Week three times during the indoor season, and she is the second Knight to earn the honor during the outdoor season. Coward was bestowed with the title on March 27.

The No. 13 Knights are enjoying a week off from competition as they prepare to return to Gainesville for the Tom Jones Invitational on April 21.
