UCF President John Hitt has been appointed to the Council on Competitiveness, a nonpartisan organization that strives to make the U.S. more competitive in the global economy.
The council, based in Washington, D.C., brings together business, labor, academic and government leaders to evaluate economic challenges and opportunities. The council issued a recent call-to-action, “Five for the Future,” which sets five goals meant to address America’s future competitiveness.
Energy, resilience, health care, regional innovation, global engagement and high-performance computing are the main themes of “Five for the Future,” which will be presented to presidential candidates, members of Congress and the media leading up to the presidential election.
