At a regular meeting of the university’s Board of Trustees, President Hitt praised Provost Hickey for his “extraordinary leadership” to the university during his seven years as UCF’s chief academic officer.

“It is with genuine regret that I announce Terry’s retirement. During his tenure, Terry restructured our colleges to better serve the size and complexity of our university,” President Hitt said. “His support for the professoriate has inspired a vibrant scholarship of teaching and learning initiative and has also created new career paths for professionals.
