Rebekah McCloud, director for UCF’s Upward Bound Program, was accepted into the First Year Class of the Southeastern Association of Equal Opportunity Program Personnel’s (SAEOPP) Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI). The program is a two year staff development program for members of SAEOPP. The first year training will take place in January 2010 as a part of SAEOPP’s annual conference to be held in Mobile, Alabama.

The focus of ELI is to develop successful leaders who have the desire to become involved in TRIO leadership and to shape the future of TRIO through the regional and state associations. The mission of the  Emerging Leaders Institute is to develop tomorrow’s leaders who influences real change. For one or one hundred, ELI can develop leadership development experiences that are memorable and take you to the next step of your leadership journey.

SAEOPP is comprised of eight state organizations (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee) who represent the TRiO and other equal opportunity program personnel in those states. The association is dedicated to the professional development and support of TRIO professionals and to the advocacy of the TRIO Movement.

The Upward Bound Program is in the Division of Student Development and Enrollment Services.
