On August 28, students got a double dose of multicultural information. The Multicultural Student Center in conjunction with Multicultural Academic and Support Services held an open house.
MASS, formerly located in Howard Phillips Hall, is located in the Student Union room 154, directly across the hall from MSC. The MASS staff was happy to show off their new digs to the UCF community. “Students came from every direction to find out more about the services that MASS and MSC provide,” said Cyndia Morales, assistant director for MASS. Students had an opportunity to receive a MASS program calendar and snack from MASS.
Knightro made an appearance at each office posing for photos and interacting with guests.
MSC is located in room 153. Students received free pizza and soda as they learned more about each office. Sunglasses, water cups, pamphlets and other prizes were given out in the MSC to students who spun the prize wheel. Later at MSC, representatives from Charles Schwab held an informational session about their Black Professionals at Charles Schwab program. This exclusive “Bridge Development Program” between Charles Schwab and UCF offered 25 students an opportunity to get hands on training and insight on how to gain a competitive edge in the professional world.
