Four student teams recently advanced to the finals of the Joust Business Plan Tournament, which will be held on Friday, April 23, at 1:30 p.m. in the FAIRWINDS Alumni Center. The competitors will present their business ideas one last time for the judges. The winning team will be announced at 4 p.m. at an awards ceremony and reception. The event is open to the public.

The Joust Business Plan Tournament is the signature competition of the UCF Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (http://www.cei.ucf.edu), an initiative by the College of Business Administration that serves as a hub for academic entrepreneurship across UCF’s many outstanding colleges and programs.

The final four teams competing in the Joust are as follows:

Recycles, LLC is dedicated to providing eco-friendly transportation options to those people who strive to reduce their carbon footprint through the use of bicycles as opposed to automobiles. (Thomas Lechner, Steven Freygang, Mark Stewart and Jolene Taracatac)

The Vak Shack, LLC is the combination of two online websites that sell vacuum sealer machines and replacement vacuum sealer bags in user-friendly quantities, unique combinations, and a variety of sizes. The bags are guaranteed to work in any home vacuum sealer machine and are of a high quality material. (Amanda M. Crum)

Accelerant Learning Group is an educational game creator whose products facilitate customers’ absorption of university-level material in stimulating and visually pleasing video games.
